By Sedaris? I always recommend Me Talk Pretty One Day because it's the first one of his I read and it resonated with me a lot. It blends essays about growing up in North Carolina and his adventures moving to Paris and trying to learn French. At the time I was in North Carolina myself and struggling with French : )
I'm reading now his latest book, The Land and Its People, and is equally strong. If you like comic writing, Sedaris is the master.
And we're back! 🎉
Brace yourselves! 😉
yeah we are!!
Giving it a go!
Let’s see what comes out on this theme.
So far, a poem. And a start to a writing piece…🤓
Good luck x
Oh wonderful! You can submit either or both, can't wait to see what comes out xx
So looking forward to this ! A chance to hear writers read their own work.

Me too. It's the best x
This sounds fun, might give it a go!
Do!! It’s such fun and a lovely, supportive community xx

Well done.
Thanks babes!
Such a great initiative! I think I might have something that could be a good fit for this 🙂
And David Sedaris is always a winner xx
Picking up on this - is there a book of his you'd recommend starting with??
I listen to him reading his diaries and essays on Radio 4 on repeat. Search MEET DAVID SEDARIS on BBC sounds.

Brilliant, thank you so much both!
Also his latest book The Land and Its People is fab and the audiobook is recorded in front of a live audience.
Ooh that’s interesting! I was just saying on Saturday I’ve never listened to an audiobook (really!) … maybe Sedaris is my nudge to start.
Next audible purchase.
Ahahaha, that's a great tip 😉
Lovely, please do. X
London too far to go
Sadly😢
Come and see us if you’re in town. There's meet ups every month.
Can US-based writers participate?
You’d need to be in UK. Come and see us if you're ever in London.
